Regina Wilmink – Dekoqueen

Regina turned her hobby into a profession over 30 years ago. Her heart burns for decorations – preferably with fresh flowers. Regina has been embellishing the Chesa Monte with her creations for many years. She has become part of the family and has seen the children grow up. Everyone is happy when she comes and brings a breath of fresh air. And she enjoys it here with us – the family atmosphere and, above all, the appreciation that she and her work receive at Chesa Monte.

When it comes to decorations, the artist naturally also pays attention to trends. Incidentally, the flower trends are based on the colours of fashion and furnishings. For example, ‘peach’ was the absolute hit in summer 2024. And in winter, there will be no getting around subtle, delicate colours. The training courses that wholesalers offer for florists like Regina are a regular trend exchange. These often take place in Regina’s second home – the Netherlands. Regina’s husband comes from the Netherlands and so she has built up a ‘flower network’ over the years.

Reginas Hobbys

Regina finds balance in her job by skiing and playing tennis.

One passion she shares with her husband is motorcycling. They love speeding over Alpine passes on their KTM bikes – their favourite routes are the Silvretta High Alpine Road and the Kaunertal Glacier Road. By the way, two great tips for all two-wheel enthusiasts.

Regina’s tips for decorating with natural materials

Autumn swaps the colourful blooms of summer for subtle colours and shapes. Now the seed pods and fruit clusters of many plants turn out to be beautiful little works of art. Nuts are also wonderful eye-catchers when skilfully used as decorations. Branches and twigs can also be used to make flower arrangements and sophisticated lanterns.

  • Dried hydrangea flowers in an old earthenware vase. Incidentally, you can discover real treasures at flea markets.
  • Lavender, thistles, quaking grass and poppy seed pods placed in small vases and jars really come into their own
  • Rosehips can be used to conjure up beautiful autumn decorations. A decorative heart is quick to make and can be hung on doors, windows, chests of drawers and walls.
